Breaking Down Donald Trump Prop Bets

The updated political betting markets at BetUS offer multiple ways to wager on the future of Trump’s second term. You can bet on everything from Trump’s relationship with Musk to the fate of various amendments in the US Constitution.

Will Donald Trump Fire Elon Musk? (+400)

Musk invested over $280 million in Trump’s 2024 campaign. After buying the election, it should come as no surprise that Musk has significantly influenced Trump’s work in his first 100 days in office.

Elon Musk and Trump’s relationship has hit several rough spots already. Musk’s venture into the political realm has cost him billions thanks to boycotts that have caused the value of his sticks to plummet. The emphasis on Musk, which has sometimes overshadowed President Trump, has also caused friction between the two.

BetUS lists Musk at +400 to be “kicked out” of the White House next. Firing Musk would be a significant power move by Trump.

However, despite their issues, Trump seems committed to maintaining his relationship with Musk. The President recently proved his loyalty to Musk by turning the White House into a showroom for his Teslas, so a split seems unlikely.

  • Prediction: Trump will not fire Elon Musk N/A

Who Will Donald Trump Kick Out of the White House Next?

Elon Musk is not the only one who has butted heads with Trump in recent months. Some other notable names who Trump could kick out of the White House next include:

  • Justin Trudeau (+600)
  • JD Vance (+1600)
  • Mark Zuckerberg (+1600)
  • Pedro Sánchez (+2000)
  • Vladimir Putin (+4000)
  • Kim Jong-Un (+4000)

There are nearly two dozen names available in the latest Donald Trump betting odds at BetUS. Justin Trudeau has the best odds after Musk at +600. Other notable names include JD Vance (+1600), Mark Zuckerberg (+1600), and Vladimir Putin (+4000).

My top pick in this market is Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez (+2000). Sánchez has been a vocal critic of Trump and would quickly wear out his welcome if invited to the White House. The rapidly decaying relationship between the US and the EU could force the two to interact sooner rather than later:

  • Prediction: Pedro Sanchez +2000

Will Trump be Removed Via the 25th Amendment in 2025? (+1400)

The 25th Amendment, among other things, gives the Vice President and the members of the presidential cabinet the ability to remove the President from office. BetUS lists Trump at 14-1 odds to be removed from office via the 25th Amendment in 2025.

Invoking the 25th Amendment is different than impeaching a president. Invoking the 25th does not necessarily mean permanently replacing the president. Kamala Harris, for instance, temporarily served as the acting president thanks to the 25th Amendment in 2021 when President Biden had a medical procedure.

President Nixon, on the other hand, used the 25th Amendment to replace Vice President Spiro Agnew after the latter resigned. Agnew’s replacement, Gerald Ford, then assumed the presidency because of this amendment after Nixon was impeached.

There are two key factors in this bet that bettors need to consider:

  1. Trump must be removed by the 25th Amendment
  2. Trump must be relieved of his power in 2025

Barring a health scare, I do not see anyone in the Republican party having the courage to oppose Trump. The time element on this wager also makes it unlikely to hit.

  • Prediction: Trump will not be removed via 25th amendment N/A

Will Trump Cut Long-Term Capital Gains Tax in 2025?

  • Yes (-150)
  • No (+110)

A major part of Trump’s three presidential campaigns was cutting taxes for rich people. One of the taxes that could be on the chopping block in 2025 is the long-term capital gains tax.

BetUS lists Trump at -150 to cut the long-term capital gains tax in 2025.

Long-term capital gains taxes apply when you sell an asset or investments you have had for over a year. The long-term tax is lower than the short-term capital gains tax rate, but it is still too high for some.

Here is Steve Forbes, who has a net worth of $200,000,000, explaining why cutting this tax is a good idea.

Trickle-down economics has had over 40 years to take effect, but it has not benefitted the average American. It has made the 1% significantly richer, though, which is all the reason Trump needs to push for this tax cut.

  • Prediction: Yes -150

What Countries Will Trump Visit in 2025?

  • Canada (Yes -500, No +300)
  • Mexico (Yes +250, No -400)
  • Russia (Yes +200, No -300)
  • Germany (Yes +170, No -260)

You can also wager on which countries Trump will visit before the end of the year. Canada has the best odds at -500. Given its proximity and Trump’s desire to claim the Great White North as a US state, it is easy to see why Canada is such a heavy favorite.

Russia offers much better value at +200. Trump’s connection with Putin has drawn a lot of criticism over the years, and the war in Ukraine has only amplified the issue. Despite the criticism it will draw, I think Trump will visit Russia in 2025.

  • Prediction: Trump will visit Russia +200

Donald Trump Cabinet: Next Cabinet Member to Leave Their Post?

  • Robert F. Kennedy Jr. (+300)
  • Marco Rubio (+350)
  • Pete Hegseth (+500)
  • Tulsi Gabbard (+500)
  • Linda McMahon (+600)
  • John Ratcliffe (+1000)
  • Scott Bessent (+1200)
  • Pam Bondi (+2000)
  • Kristi Noem (+2000)
  • Lee Zeldin (+2500)

In his first term, one of the biggest hurdles Trump had to overcome was the high turnover rate in his cabinet. You can wager on the next person to leave his cabinet in his second term. BetUS has RFK Jr. as a +300 favorite in this market.

RFK Jr.’s dreams of making America healthy again contradict Trump’s anti-regulation rhetoric. However, I think Pete Hegseth’s recent security breach on Signal is a much more glaring issue.

Hegseth allegedly disclosed classified information about the US’s pending attack in Yemen in a group chat that included the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Jeffrey Goldberg. That slip-up could put Hegseth on the chopping block soon.

  • Prediction: Pete Hegseth +500

Will Donald Trump & Melania Trump be Divorced Before the End of 2025? (+3000)

In addition to betting on your Trump administration predictions. You can also wager on the President’s personal life. The pro-family conservative president is on his third marriage. BetUS lists Donald and Melania Trump at +3000 to divorce before the end of the year.

The time component is what worries me most about this wager. Divorces, especially ones with so many assets involved, are complicated and take a long time. They might divorce before the end of his presidency, but Melania and Donald will not be divorced by the end of 2025.

  • Prediction: Trump and Melania will not get divorced in 2025 N/A

Donald Trump to Complete a Full Term as US President

  • Yes (-300)
  • No (+200)

BetUS lists Trump at -300 to finish his second term as President. Trump will be 82 by the time his current term ends, making him the oldest person to serve as President.

As mentioned above, Trump is available at 14-1 odds to be removed from office via the 25th Amendment before the end of the year. BetUS also lists the President at +200 odds to be impeached before the 2028 presidential election.

This is Trump’s last term unless the 22nd Amendment is overturned. BetUS lists the repealing of the 22nd Amendment during Trump’s presidency at +350 odds.

I do not think Trump will overturn the 22nd Amendment because he would not have enough support from the states. However, Democrats will also not have enough support to impeach Trump until at least 2026.

He was impeached twice in his first term and still finished it, so even if he is impeached, I think Trump will finish his current term.

  • Prediction: Trump will complete a full term -300
